College Program
Circuit Cellar provides free magazines (electronic edition and/or print) to qualified technical classes during the college semester. Free issues are available to professors and students actively involved in courses dealing with computer and control applications. Print magazines are available only to US colleges. Colleges not located in the US are only eligible to receive the electronic edition PDF magazine. All subscriptions are subject to acceptance and approval by Circuit Cellar.
Please read the College Program qualifications below so you are aware of how the program works and its requirements. Once you have reviewed the requirements please do the following:
- If your college is outside of the US go to the Digital Plus page and register for our Digital Plus PDF. An FAQ for the electronic edition is available here.
- If your college is located within the US and you wish to receive print magazines, click here for a request form.
- Once approved by Circuit Cellar an email will be sent to you.
If you have any comments or questions please email us at CollegeProgram@CircuitCellar.com before filling out the application.
College Program Qualifications
Q. Are there any special requirements for enrollment in the college program?
A. Yes, you must be a bona fide educational institution and you must register your class to qualify. Only professors or class instructors may apply. The College Program is intended solely as a convenient means for professors to make additional technical materials available for class work. We request that you do not enroll unless you intend it for that purpose. Circuit Cellar has the sole authority to determine qualification and may deny it at any time.
Q. If I qualify to receive print magazines under the college program, can I or should I also receive the electronic edition?
A. If you qualify for the college program and are located in the US, you can receive print magazines. We also have an electronic PDF of the magazine. You may want to enroll for the Electronic Edition PDF if your class includes foreign students who attend via the Internet or you expect large classes on an infrequent schedule. Any professor, domestic or foreign, can elect to receive electronic editions of the magazine but they must enroll separately.
Q. Will there be an expiration date on professor accounts?
A. Professors are expected to submit new college program requests each semester. College program subscriptions expire after six months if not renewed.
