Microcontroller-Based
Variable Switched-Mode DC Power Supply
With
the feedback control designed around a 3687 microcontroller,
this application provides superior control of a variable switched-mode
DC power supply. The novel switched-mode technique enables
higher than usual efficiency, which means less heating and
denser packaging of the power supply unit. The digital controller
uses the robust PID control to effectively regulate the output
voltage, even during events such as line and load condition
changes. A power factor correction stage acts as a preconverter,
which further increases the project’s efficiency.
