Animatronics
for the Independent Filmmaker
Designed
for special effects in the entertainment industry, this system
uses a 3687 microcontroller to control an animatronics mask.
It is ideal for controlling puppets when making a film. An
auxiliary circuit board, a power supply, some servos, and
an animatronics mask comprise the project. The servos are
attached to the mask to control movement. This system enables
users to control the mask via potentiometers, a touch screen,
and buttons. The mask can be controlled simply by choosing
preset movements from menus. Additionally, users who want
more control and flexibility in the mask’s behavior can set
trim and position to achieve different visual effects.
