MovingText
SMS
The
MovingText SMS is an electronic display intended to present
Short Message Service data. A PC, infrared signals, or radio
signals can be used to control the system. A 3687 microcontroller
reads the SMS data transmitted by a cell phone and displays
the message on a large LED. Up to 160 characters can be stored
in the microcontroller’s 4-KB RAM. The MovingText SMS can
be controlled wirelessly, which makes it ideal for use by
police departments in GSM service areas. Other potential applications
include traffic reports and news displays in public spaces.
