Environmental
Correction Factors for Deadweight Testing
Maintaining
deadweight testing accuracy in the field can be difficult
because of movement and changes in temperature and humidity.
This project is an electronic instrument used to calibrate
portable deadweight testers to improve accuracy. The instrument
automatically measures environmental correction factors (air
temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, and local gravity)
in order to calculate precision pressure measurements. An
HD64F3664BP processor is programmed to use the environmental
correction factors to compute the air buoyancy correction
factor and local gravity correction factor. Plus, the system
displays the air temperature and pressure on an LCD so the
user can determine additional correction factors.
