A CY8C27443 microcontroller serves as the main signal processor and display controller for this low-cost electrocardiograph (ECG or EKG) heart monitor. The MCU’s boost regulator converts the power derived from two 1.5-V batteries to 5 VDC, which helps reduce the weight of the package so that it’s portable.
