Distinctive Excellence

BlindSpot

The useful BlindSpot curbs motor vehicle accidents by providing automated warnings when an object (usually another car) is in the driver’s blind spot. An electronic compass was adapted to detect objects by sensing disruptions in the magnetic field around the car. The BlindSpot features three warning systems: LEDs placed on either side of the car light to indicate that an object is in the corresponding blind spot; a warning tone sounds; and the data is displayed on an LCD. The compass also provides standard heading information.
