Jay Newman (the "D" is silent) works for
the TLT group at Penn State University writing programs
to aid the faculty in using classroom-based technology.
In his spare time, Jay keeps busy constructing robots
and writing. Jay is old enough to have built his first
computer around a 6502 with 18 KB of RAM—back when
that was a large amount. The JStik that is the brain
of his current robot is much more powerful than his
first homebuilt computer. Jay lives with his wife,
