Here’s
a slightly different way of hosting a web site. I recently
used a Renesas Technology M32C/84 microprocessor as
an embedded Internet server connected permanently via
a dial-up modem. When the system connects to the Internet,
it announces its allocated IP address to a dynamic domain
name system (DNS) service. This enables a fixed domain
name to point directly to HTTP and FTP servers. The
result is a low-power web-hosting option for simple
web sites.
