Time’s up
There’s
no doubt that it’s much less expensive to buy a remote
control module off the shelf than it is to build your
own, if you can find one that suits your needs. However,
if your requirement is unique or you can combine a few
functions into one unit, then the satisfaction of designing
your own unit makes it all worthwhile. I find building
these wireless gadgets addictive. In the back of my mind,
I’m already thinking of my next project: a controller
for air exchanger in my home using indoor/outdoor temperature
and humidity sensors and a power line modem.
