PC/104
EMBEDDED CPU
The
Elektra is a high-integration embedded CPU with
data acquisition capabilities. It integrates a Pentium-II
class CPU running at 200 MHz, 128-MB memory, Ethernet,
and a professional-quality analog and digital I/O circuit
with auto-calibration onto a single PC/104 board. Linux,
DOS, QNX, and Windows CE operating systems are supported.

The
Elektra consumes only 5.5 W and operates over the –40°
to 85ºC extended temperature range without a fan. The
board offers the key attributes of high integration,
low power, and ruggedness required for today’s demanding
embedded computing applications.
The
Elektra’s built-in data acquisition circuit provides
highly accurate stable A/D performance with 16-bit resolution
and programmable input ranges. A 512-sample FIFO and
on-board programmable timer enable an error-free 100-kHz
A/D sampling rate in any operating system. It includes
four 12-bit D/A channels, 24 programmable digital I/O
lines, and two programmable counter/timers. All data
of the acquisition features are fully supported by the
Universal Driver software to simplify application development.
The built-in auto-calibration circuitry provides enhanced
accuracy for analog measurements. This reduces errors
by a factor of 10 over competitors’ manually calibrated
boards.
Two
configurations are available. The ELK200-EA-XT model
includes a CPU plus data acquisition. The ELK200-E-XT
model is the lower-cost CPU-only configuration. Both
versions include four RS-232 ports, two USB 1.1 ports
with USB floppy support, 10/100-Mbps Ethernet, a PS/2
keyboard and mouse, parallel and IDE ports, a programmable
watchdog timer, and an on-board back-up battery for
real-time clock and BIOS settings.
The
ELK200-EA-XT costs $750. The ELK200-E-XT costs
$450.
