PC/104 MODULE WITH A/D, D/A, TTL I/O, AND TIMERS

The MPC555 PC/104 board provides 24 digital I/O lines, 16 12-bit analog input lines, and three 16-bit counter/timer channels that will operate from –40° to 85°C on a PC/104 board. Eight user LEDs and four general-purpose, readable jumpers are also included. An option adds eight 12-bit analog output lines. For many systems, this “combo” board will be the only add-on board needed.

The analog input section of the MPC555 implements a complete data acquisition system, with software-programmable full-scale ranges of 5, 10, ±5, and ±10 V. The digital I/O lines are TTL level, and they can source and sink 2.5 mA each. The counter/timer channels can be used to count digital input events, measure the time between events, and generate system timing interrupts. The PC/104 system clock normally clocks the counter/timers, but a user-installed oscillator can clock them if a particular frequency is needed. The analog output options add four or eight DACs with 10-V full-scale outputs. Both analog inputs and analog outputs can support data rates to 100 kHz.

The MPC555 ships with full documentation and a diskette that has C language example programs. Source code is included for customization, if desired. A device driver for Linux is also provided. The MPC555 is $265 in single quantities. An industrial temperature (–40° to 85°C) version is also available starting at $275. The four and eight channel analog output options are $95 and $175, respectively. Significant OEM discounts are available.
