LCD MICROCONTROLLERS
The
mega329/649/3290/6490 flash memory microcontrollers
are designed to address the requirements of portable
and battery-operated applications that need to interface
with an LCD. These devices combine a code-efficient
and powerful microcontroller with a low-power flash
memory technology. The mega329 and mega649 have an integrated
100-segment LCD controller. They are housed in a 64-pin
package. The mega3290 and mega6490 have a 160-segment
LCD controller. They are available in a 100-pin package.
Members
of this family of microcontrollers consume only 300
µA at an operating frequency of 1 MHz. They have a throughput
of 2 MIPS per milliwatt. In Power-Down mode, all peripherals,
with the exception of external interrupts, are turned
off and power consumption drops to 100 nA. These parts
are extremely responsive to external events in both
Active and Power-Down modes. Interrupts on up to 18
inputs can wake the MCUs from Power-Down mode in less
than 1 µs.
The
mega329 and 3290 cost $4.50 and $4.95,
respectively, in 10,000-piece quantities. The mega649
and mega6490 will be available in early 2005 and cost
$5.25 and $5.75, respectively. Evaluation
and debug tools are available.
