By combining the new RF Solutions 102 series encoder transmitters and 008 series decoder units, engineers can create a versatile 315-MHz FM remote control system using the highly secure Keeloq code-hopping protocol.

The 102 series handheld transmitters are available with one, two, or four switches, and are capable of being expanded up to 15 switches. The switch overlay itself can be customized to meet the needs of particular applications. If required, each encode can be board level programmed with a specific manufacturer’s ID code.

The transmitter, which is housed in a tough ABS enclosure, is FCC compliant. Further features include LED indication of transmission, a power-saving auto shutoff feature, and automatic transmission of low battery condition. Each encoder is supplied with a 9-V battery.

The 008 series decoder is able to work with up to 50 transmitter encoders, which are configured using an "easy learn" feature and memorized even if the power to the decoder is disconnected. The unit features four 1 A at 50-VDC rated relay outputs. These can be set up to be either momentary or latching.

The decoder can be powered by either a 12- or 24-V supply and housed in a sealed ABS enclosure that is suitable for outdoor use. The maximum operating range for the 008 series varies from 300¢ to 1200¢ , depending on the operating frequency selected.

The 102 series transmitters start at $39.95 in 100-piece quantities for units with one switch. The 008 series decoder starts at $69.80 in 100-piece quantities.
