ACCURATE SPI-COMPATIBLE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

The ADT7301 is a 13-bit temperature-to-digital converter in an SOT23 package. The converter provides ± 0.5°C measurement accuracy from 0° to 70°C; it is fully specified for operation between –40° to 150°C. In addition to its small footprint, the device’s low operating current (1 µA) and wide supply range (2.7 to 5.5 V) make it ideal for many low-power applications requiring precise thermal measurement.

The ADT7301 contains a flexible serial interface, which allows easy interfacing to most microcontrollers. The part is compatible with SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE protocols, as well as digital signal processors (DSPs). The ADT7301 also offers a Standby mode for additional power savings.

The combined features of accuracy, small size, and low power make the ADT7301 ideal for many space-constrained applications, including medical equipment, automotive equipment, cell phones, hard disk drives, electronic test equipment, thermostat controls, portable battery management, and process control.

In addition to the SOT23 package, the ADT7301 is available in a 8-lead micro small outline package (MSOP). The device costs $1.20 per unit in 1000-piece quantities.
