Intersil IM6100 was as close as you could get to an exact
implementation of the DEC PDP-8/e minicomputer in a single
chip. This allowed it to capitalize on the large base
of software that had been developed for the latter, plus
it had all of the same advantages as the 1802 in terms
of being a fully static CMOS design.
