Test Your EQ #153—Answer

Answer 4

a)
Conductor spacing: Flashover between the two conductors will occur if the voltage rises high enough, especially as a result of high VSWR.
b) Conductor gauge: Resistive losses in the conductors will cause the cable temperature to rise at high current levels.
c) Again, this is exacerbated by high VSWR. Dielectric losses: Some dielectric materials dissipate more energy in high-RF fields than others, and this can become the limiting factor, especially at higher frequencies.
