Personal Information That We Collect

We may request that you voluntarily supply us with personal information, including your e-mail address, postal address, home or work telephone number, and credit card number (only if you choose to subscribe or purchase one of our products online), for such purposes as correspondence, making a purchase, or participating in online contests or surveys. We may also require you to supply us with personal information (demographic information such as age, income, education, population data, and zip codes) during a "registration" process online to enable you to use certain features of our site (such as a contest-related sample request). If you choose to give us personal information via the Internet that we or our business partners may need, then it is our intent to let you know how we will use such information.

We will not share specific information about you to advertisers or third parties without prior notice or your consent.

Use of User Information

We do not use personal identifying information for any reason that is not disclosed either in this policy or at the time the information is requested. Using e-mail addresses provided at registration or otherwise, Circuit Cellar periodically sends out e-mail newsletters and announcements to our registered users and subscribers regarding your subscription, editorial events, and magazine related topics. Subscribing to Circuit Cellar’s electronic edition or other online editorial products constitutes approval and implicit permission for Circuit Cellar to contact subscribers and users by both e-mail or postal mail in order to properly maintain its business relationship with those who register.

There may be instances where you will have the opportunity to subscribe to an e-mail list that will send information about a specific topic or advertiser to your e-mail address, but after an initial mailing gauging your interest, this will be continued only with your permission and consent.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not share personal identifying information with any third party without your permission. Our intent is not to send e-mail to you unless you request a particular service or consent to being contacted by e-mail as described in this policy. We disclose only in aggregate (group) form our statistical analyses or demographics of users to third parties, such as advertisers or other business partners. This aggregate information does not include names or e-mail addresses. Third parties will not contact our users or use our e-mail newsletter lists unless users ask to be placed on a list to receive e-mail from our advertisers on subjects of interest. As a normal course of business, our web site and online editorial products typically link to other web sites. PLEASE BE AWARE that when you voluntarily disclose personal information (such as your name or e-mail address) in chat areas, bulletin boards, or at these third-party web sites, the information collected by them may be outside our control and may result in unsolicited messages from others.

The Circuit Cellar web site is not directed at individuals under thirteen years of age, and Circuit Cellar does not intend to collect any personally-identifiable information from such individuals nor knowingly distribute such information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally-identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen, we will delete such information from our records.
