This month marks Circuit Cellar’s 20th anniversary. Ed reminds us that even though embedded technology has come a long way since 1988, what’s inside the box still counts. Electronics really is better today!

Whether you measure the elapsed time as 20 calendar years, 80 Internet years, 140 dog years, 200 cat years, or 210 magazines, what’s inside the box has certainly changed since Circuit Cellar’s Issue Number 1. Surprisingly, one thing hasn’t changed: you must still build dependable systems at an acceptable cost within a definite schedule.
Our problems may be bigger, but progress has definitely improved our assortment of building blocks!
